When people talk about the most popular female performers ever to step foot in the WWE ring, Sable is certainly one of them. However, she was never known for in-ring skills, as she worked in an era when the look was prioritized more in a female star. The blonde beauty was a major part of the Attitude Era as well as the Ruthless Aggression Era.
Sable had two stints in WWE in two different eras, and she was successful in both. The former Women’s Champion stays out of the public eye now, but these pictures of Sable in different phases of her career will take fans down memory lane.
8 The WWE Debut As Triple H’s Manager
Before entering the wrestling business, Sable was a model for various renowned brands. After getting trained by her then-husband Marc Mero, she made her debut in 1996. But she didn’t wrestle initially.
Her first-ever WWE appearance or WWE TV debut was at WrestleMania 12, where she accompanied Triple H to the ring. Hunter had a match against the Ultimate Warrior. Their association didn’t last long when the latter mistreated her.
7 Managing Marc Mero
When Triple H didn’t treat Sable with respect, her then real-life husband, Marc Mero came to the rescue. As a result, Sable became the manager of Marc Mero on-screen. The pair worked well for a while.
Due to Sable’s increasing popularity, Marc Mero became envious and tried keeping her away from the spotlight, which created a crack in their on-screen relationship. Subsequently, they parted ways, and Marc Mero replaced Sable with Jacqueline.
6 Heel Sable & The Women’s Champion
Sable’s popularity skyrocketed in 1999 when she was featured in the popular magazine, Playboy. She was the cover girl in its April edition, and it was her very first appearance for the renowned magazine. With the appearance and mainstream attention, Sable’s character also had a significant change.
Sable turned heel and adopted a Hollywood gimmick following her Playboy appearance. As Sable was a huge name back then, WWE pushed her, and she won the Women’s Championship during this phase. As a heel, she had a bodyguard called Nicole Bass. Despite remaining champion for almost six months, Sable seldom defended the gold.
5 Time Away From WWE
At the end of her first stint in WWE, she had bad blood with the company. Once she left WWE in 1999, she didn’t come back until 2003. During her four years away from the ring, Sable worked on different non-wrestling projects.
She appeared on popular talk shows as well as TV shows. Sable played the role of a female bouncer in the movie, Corky Romano, and the picture above is from that film.
4 WWE Return & Feud With Stephanie McMahon
Upon her WWE return in 2003, Sable’s first major feud was with Stephanie McMahon. It all started after Vince McMahon started a relationship with Sable, and it wasn’t the first time the boss had a WWE Diva as a mistress.
Sable and Stephanie had brawls during the feud, and they faced each other at Vengeance in a No Countout match, where Sable was victorious.
3 Teaming Up With Torrie Wilson
Following her two appearances for Playboy magazine in 1999, Sable got the chance to feature for that iconic magazine once again five years later in 2004. However, she wasn’t alone this time as a cover girl. She teamed up with another popular WWE Diva at that time, Torrie Wilson. To promote their Playboy appearance, the two blonde stunners also teamed up on TV.
As a team, Sable and Torrie Wilson started a feud with Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler. The two teams ended up having a tag team match at WrestleMania 20, where the team of Sable and Torrie Wilson beat Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie.
2 Final WWE Feud With Torrie Wilson
Torrie Wilson and Sable were a part of many raunchy segments that helped WWE to create an edgy product in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Following her association with Torrie Wilson, she turned heel once again in her career. The heel turn allowed Sable to have a feud with her former partner. It also ended up being the last feud of Sable in WWE before she left the company in 2004.
The rivalry between Sable and Torrie Wilson wasn’t a lengthy one. The two ladies crossed paths in the ring at The Great American Bash, where Sable defeated Torrie Wilson. A rematch between them took place on the following SmackDown, where Torrie won to even the score. Given neither Sable nor Torrie was good in the ring, the matches weren’t great.
1 Accompanying Brock Lesnar In Japan
Sable and Brock Lesnar got married in 2006, and they are still happily together. Like Sable, Lesnar also left WWE in 2004, and he wrestled in Japan for a brief period. Even though Sable was done with wrestling in 2006, she accompanied her husband as a special guest during his matches in Japan.
This is a picture of Lesnar and Sable when the former was wrestling Japan. Incidentally, the couple never appeared together on WWE TV.
