Jockey Tyler Conner had only two mounts on Saturday at Parx Racing, and one of those scratched. Fortunately, he only needed one of them to reach 1,000 career victories.

In a Pennsylvania-bred race taken off the dirt and moved to the main track, Conner guided My Dixie Lass to a two-length victory in 1:45.21 as the 2-1 second choice in a six-horse field.

My Dixie Lass, a three-year-old filly by the red-hot Blofeld, is trained by Chuck Lawrence and is a homebred for James Chandley. She now has two wins from seven career starts.

Conner now has 1,000 wins in his career from just shy of 6,300 starts. His mounts have earned more than $21.2 million.

The 28-year-old Conner enjoyed the best season of his career in 2015, when he won 168 races and posted more than $3.2 million in earnings. With nearly $2 million in earnings thus far this year, Conner may have the latter number in his sights.

Excluding his partial first season, Conner has won at least 65 races every year.
