The Research and Education Foundation (TERF) has awarded TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program Inc. with $4,000.

TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program Inc., launched in 2012, promotes and develops a second career for retired racehorses from the track.

In keeping with their mission to support and promote equine education by assisting organizations to educate the public on how to properly care for horses, TERF will continue to provide their financial support into 2022.

TAKE2 CEO Andy Belfiore said: “Education is the key to the success of purebred child care. There are a lot of resources available to owners and trainers, like our TAKE THE LEAD program, and we have to make sure they know all the options and are informed about how it works. retirement process. We must let racing fans and the public know that our industry cares and is deeply committed to our horses off the track. We had to engage with the sports horse community to inform them of the many organizations, such as TAKE2, that provide incentives to compete on Hybrid Horses. Thanks to the support of TERF, we were able to organize events such as Lunches and Learn about Aftercare held in Saratoga and get messages on aftercare. “
