SHOOT Publicity Wire Shares The Most Viewed Entertainment Industry News Releases In 2022

Read Time:4 Minute, 58 Second

The most engaging publicity news releases on the SHOOT Publicity Wire (SPW) in 2022 included the naming of the emcee for the 9th Annual Make-up & Hair Stylists Guild Awards, Ateliere Creative Technologies’ plans for the 2022 NAB Show New York, a behind-the-scenes look at the sound–and the artisans behind it–for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and a rundown of AICP Awards shortlists for the 2022 editions of its three competitions: The AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the Commercial, the AICP Next Awards and the AICP Post Awards.

Topping the 2022 SPW rundown was news that actress and comedian Melissa Peterman was set to host the 9th Annual Make-Up & Hair Stylists Guild Awards on February 19, 2022.

Finishing second in the SPW views tally was a report that Ateliere Creative Technologies would be exhibiting its award-winning Ateliere Connect and Discover cloud-native solutions at the 2022 NAB Show New York.

Taking third place in our rundown was the rollout of the “We Are Nature” campaign launching a new clothing line from Outdoor Afro Inc. and REI Co-op.

Fourth place went to an update to Boris FX’s Particle Illusion standalone application that had just become available. The popular particle generator allows users to easily create animations to use as visual effects, motion design backgrounds, titles, and more.

Landing in fifth place in number of SPW views was the release of veteran Hollywood publicist Dan Harary’s first book, a memoir entitled “Flirting With Fame: A Hollywood Publicist Recalls 50 Years of Celebrity Close Encounters,” published by Bear Manor Media.

Settling in sixth place was a look and listen at the sound–and the team of artists behind it at Sony Pictures Post Production Services–that helps drive Jon Watts’ feature Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Generating the seventh highest total of views in 2022 was another Boris FX development–the release of Optics 2022, a creative photo editing and manipulation plugin for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom workflows. Optics 2022 makes it easy to add the same high-end cinematic looks and effects to photos that the film and television industry has relied on for over 20 years.

Ending up eighth was Wild Capture’s launch of pioneering “Digital Human Platform” and creative production services for volumetric video. Started in 2020, Wild Capture is a volumetric technology platform and creative services studio for the creation of digital humans.

Nestled in the ninth slot was news that Karishma Dube and Oleksandra Kostina have been selected to be the domestic and international recipients, respectively, of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2022 Gold Fellowship for Women.  Part of the Academy Gold global talent development and inclusion initiative, the Fellowship for Women is a one-year program that combines direct support, personalized mentorship and access to once-in-a-lifetime networking opportunities for emerging women filmmakers to further their pursuits in the field.  The Academy currently awards two fellowships annually, one in the U.S. with a prize amount of $35,000 and one internationally in the amount of €20,000.

And rounding out SPW’s top ten was a rundown of the AICP Awards shortlists for the 2022 editions of its three competitions: The AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the Commercial, the AICP Next Awards and the AICP Post Awards.
