Richard Sherman finalizes next career move with Amazon
Thursday Night Football is headed in a completely different direction in 2022, as Amazon will be carrying the telecast on Prime Video, their streaming service. They have spared no expense, bringing in the likes of Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit, and Tony Gonzalez for the new telecast. Amazon didn’t stop there, though. They were reportedly in talks with former NFL star Richard Sherman back in May, with the outspoken corner in consideration for a role. On Tuesday, it was announced that Sherman’s next career move has been finalized, though there’s a catch.

Sherman will be taking his talents to Amazon Prime Video, where he will serve as a pregame, halftime and postgame show analyst for the streaming service’s Thursday Night Football broadcast. However, the NFL star’s move comes with a catch.
Speaking with NFL Network’s Steve Wyche, Sherman addressed the future of his playing career.
“No, no, I’m still leaving that door open as long as I can,” Sherman told Wyche. “I’m obviously going to keep training and staying in shape, but gotta take the opportunities when they’re there, and this is an amazing opportunity with Amazon, so I couldn’t pass it up.
“But I’m going to leave that door open, if somebody wants to call late December, and needs some help, I’m happy to help.”
Sherman is leaving the door open for a return to the NFL, saying that he will continue to train and stay in shape. The 34-year-old, who last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, isn’t ruling out a team calling him in “late-December.”
For now, though, the former All-Pro NFL corner will focus his energy on analyzing games for Amazon in the fall.
