MSU Health Care Family Medicine expands with new practice | MSUToday
The MSU Health Care Family Medicine practice is expanding. A new Family Medicine Nurse Practitioners location, whose providers hold faculty positions within the College of Nursing, opened May 16. A faculty practice, the clinic is a teaching site for the College of Human Medicine, College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Nursing.
“Patients’ health care needs are complex,” said Katherine Dontje, nurse practitioner and associate professor in MSU Health Care. “ …the ability to facilitate interprofessional collaboration including behavioral health providers and care managers will allow the College of Nursing’s Nurse Practitioners to enhance our care for the patients.”
The clinic, which is located on the first floor of the MSU Clinical Center, 804 Service Road in Suite A110, will complement the Family Medicine practice on the second floor. Providers there hold faculty positions at the College of Human Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Like the clinic on the second floor, the practice, according to MSU Health Care, will focus on caring for the entire family, from one-day-old infants to preventative care for growing family and geriatric care to optimize an older person’s ability to enjoy good health.
