Marshall Announces Changes to Sports Performance Staff
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University athletics department announced three changes to its sports performance staff on Friday with Ben Ashford, Evan Mills and Blaike Smith receiving promotions.
Ben Ashford — Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance
Ashford joined the senior staff on July 1 after being hired as the Director of Sports Performance in 2021. Ben has been promoted to Assistant AD and will serve on the senior staff as well as oversee all aspects of Marshall’s strength and conditioning program.
Evan Mills — Director of Sports Performance
Mills joined the Marshall as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in the fall of 2018. Evan has been promoted to Director of Sports Performance.
Blaike Smith — Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Smith joined the Marshall Strength and Conditioning Staff in August of 2020 in a part-time role. Blaike has been promoted to Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and is now in a full-time position.
