Ransomware has become one of the most common types of cyberattacks, not only based on the number of attacks but also on the number of victims. As we’ve discussed in prior posts, hackers have recently begun to lean even harder on companies to pay the demanded ransom by threatening to post any data obtained on the dark web. The result is that sensitive consumer information is often used after these attacks to carry out all types of fraud, including identity theft. Because of this, it is critical that anyone who receives a data breach letter from IST Management takes the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their highly sensitive information.
