Justin Rogers was already the king of the pole vault in Pennsylvania, and now he is a national champion and an All-American, too.

The Hershey senior, who has signed to compete at Virginia, took the top spot in the pole vault in the event at Franklin Field in Philadelphia Sunday with a mark of 16-8 3/4.

Rogers won a 3A state title in May with a mark of 17-3. That is also a state record.

East Pennsboro’s Breckin Swope hit a mark of 13-9 ¼ Sunday to finish 16th in the event.
