MASON CITY, Iowa – For those who love live music, get ready to rock!
Guitarist Don Felder and the pop-rock band Sugar Ray will highlight the entertainment when RAGBRAI rolls into Mason City on July 27. In addition, there will also be performances from 90s rock and grunge cover band 13 on Seven, country/blues/funk/rock singer Danny Grause, and country singer and Iowa native Brad Morgan. Admission is free for all performances.
The news was officially announced by Lake Mills comedian and MC Day Peace Wednesday. Nancy Lund, who is part of the RAGBRAI Mason City executive committee, is excited for the big day.
“This has been a fairly tightly held secret. It was a long time in the making, we wanted to make sure we brought something for everybody this year, and I think we did it.”
Some 15,000 visitors are expected, and city officials say that could mean $3 million for the Mason City economy.
In addition, volunteers are still needed to help with camping, hospitality, and cleanup positions. For more information, click here.
Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel also took advantage of the opportunity to announce that Southbridge Mall in the downtown area will now be known as Main Street Experience.
