Edge Reveals That The End Of His Wrestling Career Is “In Sight”

Read Time:2 Minute, 17 Second

WWE Hall of Famer Edge is still performing at a high level as he nears his 49th birthday, but The Ultimate Opportunist doesn’t plan on wrestling too much longer.

After nine years away from the ring, Edge made a thrilling return during the men’s 2020 Royal Rumble match. The Rated-R Superstar received clearance to return to the ring less than a decade after doctors advised him to retire at the age of 37 in 2011 because of a serious neck injury. Edge had been warned that if he continued wrestling, he’d be at risk of paralysis and death.

Edge picked up right where he left off, once again flourishing as an in-ring performer and promo specialist. The two-time Royal Rumble winner has been in several major programs, including ones with future Hall of Famer Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Edge headlined WrestleMania 37 (with Reigns and Daniel Bryan) and Money in the Bank 2021 (also with Reigns).

Although Edge is still at the top of his game, The Ultimate Opportunist suggested in an interview with Bleacher Report that “the end is in sight” for his pro wrestling career.

“This run, I feel I’ve been able to do some of that,” Edge said. “To me, that has been one more layer on this cake that was already tasty anyway. I am enjoying and soaking in every moment with the complete realization that it’s going to end soon. I know the end is in sight and I can see it, and because of that, it makes me enjoy it more.”

Edge is currently in a feud with The Judgment Day, the stable he founded after WrestleMania 38. Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor kicked The Rated-R Superstar out of the group on the June 6 episode of Raw. Edge ultimately made his in-ring return on this week’s episode of Raw for a match with Priest (in Edge’s hometown of Toronto, Ontario).

Enjoy Edge While He’s Wrestling

Edge is one of the few main event-caliber stars from the Ruthless Aggression Era that is still active in the rings. So fans simply need to enjoy the former WWE Champion while he’s still in the ring. He has given it his all in every match, and fans need to continue embracing every moment of Edge in the ring. There will be no replacing a superstar like Edge once he retires.
