CBS Sports names Ravens’ best move of 2022 offseason
The Baltimore Ravens have made many solid moves during the 2022 offseason, ranging from bringing their own players back to signing outside free agents and even securing an extremely talented draft class. They have significantly improved their depth as well as added a few players with star potential in the process.
When listing out the best move of the 2022 offseason for each AFC team, Cody Benjamin had no shortage of acquisitions to chose from when it came to Baltimore. However, he ended up settling on the Ravens drafting Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton with the No. 14 overall pick, talking about the rookie’s range and versatility as well as praising some of Baltimore’s other moves.
“Pretty much all of their defensive moves deserve praise, as Marcus Williams should roam confidently behind a healthier cornerback room, and Day Two picks David Ojabo and Travis Jones are underrated front-seven pieces. But Hamilton’s got the range and versatility to be a hybrid linebacker/safety to bring the whole defense together under new direction.”
Not many expected Hamilton to be available when the Ravens were on the clock at No. 14, but the team stayed patient and had a potential star fall right into their laps. While Baltimore didn’t have a glaring need at safety with the addition of Marcus Williams and already having Chuck Clark, Hamilton’s talent was too good to pass up on.
