BOULDER, Colo. – In this video from the International Extreme Sports Medicine Congress, Pat Karns, MA, ATC, discussed the benefits of different cannabinoids for extreme sports athletes.

“Regular CBD is a strong anti-inflammatory. When taken properly – and there’s only been a few studies out there as to the dosage – and when you’re talking about a medicinal dose for a severe musculoskeletal disorder [or] disease, you’re going to have to go 2 to 3 mg per kilogram of body weight,” he said. “Generally, the daily dose for CBD that I recommend is between 50 to 75 mg per day. But when you’re talking about a therapeutic dose, it jumps upwards of 300 to 500 [mg].”
