AKRON — Andre Maurice Ervin, 58, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at Akron City Hospital.

Andre was born in Warren, to Taylor Lee Ervin Jr. and Janet B. Bates on Nov. 26, 1963.

He was a Navy veteran and was always very active in sports, whether it be football, baseball or bowling, and also in supporting his favorite teams the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State. Andre loved art and music and sang in the church choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Camie N. Williams and Cassandra N. Baumgardner of Warren; his siblings, Orlando Ervin Sr. (Heather) of Warren and Mario Ervin, also of Warren and Sonja Parker (Sam) of Cincinnati and Tracy Whitby, also of Cincinnati; his stepfather, Nathaniel Whitby of Cortland; and one grandchild.

Andre was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Charles Bates, Gladys Bates, Taylor Ervin Sr. and Irene Ervin; and his uncles, Ralph Ervin, Stanley Ervin and Lonnie Ervin.

A service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
